What Is Resilient 305?

Resilient 305 is a collaborative effort between Miami-Dade County, the City of Miami and the City of Miami Beach, with the support of the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities and The Miami Foundation, to create a culture and consciousness in our communities which focuses on the issues that are most affecting our ability to live, work and prosper in the region.

Since 2016, our team has reached out to the hundreds of communities and neighborhoods that make up Greater Miami, listening to what they think our future can and should look like. With their input, we developed Resilient305, a regional resilience strategy, that will prepare us to survive and thrive for generations to come.

What Is Greater Miami and The Beaches?

Greater Miami & the Beaches is a collective of the 34 eclectic and diverse municipalities that make up Miami-Dade County. The region includes a young population of more than 2.7 million residents who speak more than 60 languages and hail from over 100 different countries.

The Resilient

305 vision

Since its launch, the Resilient305 team has learned from the region’s grassroots, community, business and academic leaders some of the challenges that are most hindering our community’s ability to build and maintain a viable future for the people who call Greater Miami and the Beaches their home.
During this time, we listened to our community and have taken a stern look at the issues our residents said were most stressing the day-to-day of our population. Ranked highly among them: affordable housing, mobility, income inequality, sea level rise, climate change and health and safety.
Together with a diverse group of community leaders, we worked to bring forth creative solutions that will allow us to address these issues with innovation and ingenuity.

305 vision

The goal of Resilient 305 is to learn from local grassroots, community, business and academic leaders the challenges that were most hindering our community’s ability to build and maintain a viable future for the people who call Greater Miami and the Beaches their home.
Over many months, we listened to our community and have taken a stern look at the issues our residents said were most stressing our population. Ranked highly among them: affordable housing, mobility, income inequality, sea level rise, climate change and health and safety. Together with a diverse group of community leaders, we have been working to bring forth creative solutions that will allow us to address these issues with innovation and ingenuity.
In 2019, the Resilient 305 team will present the resilience strategy for the region that has been built through this collaborative effort.
